Hello to all of you. There is much to share with you, and I want to start off by saying that our gathering at CHANCO was truly inspiring to me. A lot of our community showed up to see the location and facilities, eat lunch, and fellowship with singing and communion. Seeing all of you with those smiles and hearing all the enthusiastic comments confirmed to me that our Walk to Emmaus weekends there will continue to light the spiritual journey of our pilgrims in their relationship with God and Jesus. When we closed, I asked the community one question—do you want to cause a problem for me. That was an honest question and still is that I ask of each of you. I DO want you to give me a problem that I have to deal with. What I want from our community is to turn in 36-42 applications for EACH of our women’s and men’s walks that are coming up. Our teams are prepared to receive up to 20 pilgrims, so by turning in 36-42 applications per walk means decisions have to be made on who walks in the spring and fall and who waits for the 2026 walk dates. With those walks one year away, I would like for you to make the invitation to your church and spiritual group friends, have them complete the pilgrim applications, and sponsor them for these upcoming walks. With that many applications turned in, you have given me the best problem I could hope for as your community lay director. Can you do that? Would you reach out and invite that person? Can you give me that problem? Please? We currently have 7 applications for this April women’s walk so there is still plenty of room for more pilgrims.
Our mission is to continue to growth Christian leaders in our churches and communities. In addition to sponsoring a pilgrim, you can also serve on an inside and outside team (after completing the Fourth Day training that is offered after each walk). To serve on these teams is to be on the walk again, be a blessing to the pilgrims by giving agape, show Christ through your presence, spiritually grow more, and to receive God’s grace again and again and again. If you have not teamed or need the Fourth Day training, or have questions, please reach out to me and you will receive the answers.
