May Gathering and ZOOM Meeting
|I hope this message finds everyone in your circle doing well. Our Governor announced steps to end the shutdown yesterday and start a path back to normal. During this difficult time, I try to take time to reflect on the many blessings in my life as I am sure you have as well.|
In a recent study published last December in Perspectives on Psychological Science, four factors were identified as having an impact on early death in our world – air pollution, obesity, excessive drinking, and loneliness. According to the study, the factor that had the greatest impact was loneliness. To my surprise living with loneliness elevated the risk of early mortality by 45 percent! Over 40 percent of Americans report feeling lonely in the study.
Richmond Emmaus has been that “city built on a hill” for over 30 years and while we all are facing new and unprecedented challenges from COVID 19, now more than ever we are all called to shine the loving light of Christ like never before and cast out the shadows of loneliness. Ephesians 4:12 “to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”
This Saturday at 7 PM we will be having our second virtual gathering by zoom that will last less than 60 minutes.
Over 80 people joined us last month and we want to see you this month.
