CLD Message and Gathering reminder for Saturday, July 13
|Hello, Richmond Emmaus friends! |
So many places we look in today’s society reveals conflict. It is hard to avoid. Like we hear at the beginning of the Priesthood of All Believer’s talk, the world today can be discouraging and it is hard to manage. But there is a solution. True happiness can be found in a life with God and the grace He gives us in Jesus Christ.
We are called to represent this goodness to each other in our daily lives: To lift each other up, to share the good news of the Gospels.
A chapter I have been meditating on the last few days is 1 Thessalonians 5. In it I read instructions of how to treat each other, how to have a holy attitude and to encourage each other. The concept of greeting each other with “a holy kiss” reminds me of the holy love that God greets each of us
One “takeaway scripture” that I am carrying with me this week is:
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (verse 11)
What scripture is encouraging you this week? Please share with your Emmaus brothers and sisters. Perhaps at the Gathering this Saturday!
Gratefully and with love,
Susie Stough CLD
Gathering will be July 13th at Bethia UMC on Winterpock Road in Chesterfield.
Gathering begins with a pot luck meal at 6:00 pm followed by praise and worship.
Childcare is provided by the Safe Sanctuary approved Bethia Staff.
Come and enjoy visiting with friends, and as Susie suggested, discussing scripture that has encouraged you this week.
