Spiritual Gifts Workshops are coming to Richmond Emmaus!

Dear Emmaus friends,

We were repeatedly encouraged to discover our spiritual gifts while we attended the Walk to Emmaus. The Christian Action, Sanctifying Grace and Body of Christ talks helped us  understand that everyone who has made the decision to follow Jesus is equipped by the Holy Spirit with spiritual gifts, given to us to do ministry. Serving God in ways that are in alignment with our spiritual gifts helps us fulfill God’s call on our lives and can help guide us into living a more abundant life.

Come discover your unique, God-given spiritual gifts! You are invited to attend either of two upcoming Spiritual Gifts workshops. Both will be identical in content, so you only need to register for one. They are free to attend, but seating is limited.

The first workshop will be held on Sunday, January 21st from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Bethia UMC, Room 10.  Register online for this session at  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4DAEA723A4FC1-spiritual1, or by contacting me at (mobile) 814-5381 or simplyabbey@gmail.com

The second will be held Saturday, April 21st from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Bethia UMC, room TBA. Register online for this session at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4daea723a4fc1-spiritual2, or contact me by phone or email.

Agape Opportunities for Spring Walks!

Merry Christmas, Emmaus and Chrysalis Friends! Thanks for reading this long email during this busy time!

There’s a new way you can help our wonderful community: providing meal agape for our upcoming teams. With everything each team member has to do to prepare for a weekend, providing food during teaming can be difficult. Here’s where YOU come in!

As you know, we have 2 teams who start teaming just after the first of the year for the walks being held on March 15-18. Here’s your chance to provide agape to these teams!

R-127 — the Men’s walk will be teaming for 10 Friday nights starting Jan. 5 at Parham Road Baptist Church (West End).

R-128 — the Women’s walk will be teaming for 10 Saturday mornings starting Jan. 6 at Ivey Memorial UMC (Chester).

How can you help?

  • Sign up on one of the attached links (providing your name and email) … either grab a friend or 2 (or more) to help (and add their names) or, sign up yourself and others can join to help. This is a great opportunity for your reunion group or your table to help in a different way!
  • Provide and deliver a meal for around 25 of anything you wish … homemade, store-bought, crockpot, fast food — whatever! The one thing I ask is that everything (or as much as possible) be in disposable containers to minimize cleanup for the team. Someone would need to drop the food at the respective church around 5:30pm for the men’s team and 8:00am for the women’s team.
  • There is also the opportunity to provide lunch for a team on Thursday, March 15 at each church around 11-ish before they go to the ILC. You can sign up by using the links below.
  • If you are unable to provide a meal, there’s another way you can help — by providing plates, napkins, Reynolds wrap, flatware, etc. (or donating money for their purchase). If you can do that, please sign up on the link(s) provided and make sure I have your email to arrange pick up if needed!

The link to the men’s team sign up can be found by clicking here
The link to the women’s team sign up can be found by clicking here.

Questions? Just let me know! I’m hoping to have each meal covered for each team. Won’t you help???? Please!!!

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
