This season of Lent is a time when each of us is journeying
with God toward Easter in a personal way. This year I dedicated myself to
reading a daily scripture from both Old and New Testaments. Just a few weeks
ago, my friend and I began studying parts of the Old Testament together. This
is sometimes a challenge for me because of the history, geography, and
timelines that I have always found challenging to remember and, sometimes, to
understand. Discussing it with a friend has made a big difference for me. There
is something in the sharing and discussion that helps me understand and see the
impact on my life today and I am grateful.
How is your journey this Lent? Is God opening your eyes in a
new and different way? Share with someone close to you how you are journeying
with God this Lent.
Welcome to our new Community members of Richmond Walks 130
and 131! We look forward to meeting you this Saturday, April 13th at our
Monthly Gathering! Making new friends is a treasure, and we welcome you! Our Gathering
is held at Bethia UMC, on Winterpock Rd in Chesterfield. We begin at 6 PM with
a covered-dish fellowship meal, followed by music and worship at 6:30 PM. Childcare
is provided by Bethia’s Safe Sanctuaries-certified staff.
I pray that each of our journeys on the Walk to Emmaus — whether it began for you last month, last year, or a decade ago — continue to help us see God in a new and beautiful way.
Gratefully and with Love,
