A message from CLD Rob Heare

As many of you know, we have been challenged to find locations to hold our Weekends since Blackstone closed. However, each time God has answered prayer and opened doors. God is Good! All the Time! Throughout this process, I am reminded of the song; “I am the Church! You are the Church!” Part of the lyrics are:

“I am the Church! You are the Church!
We are the Church together!
All who follow Jesus,
all around the world!
Yes, we’re the Church together!”

“The Church is not a building;
the Church is not a steeple;
the Church is not a resting place;
the Church is a People.”

I encourage you to substitute “Richmond Emmaus” for “the Church” in those lyrics. You see, it’s not so much about where we have the Weekends, it is about doing what God calls us to do … to share His love with His people!

I also think about Ecclesiastes 3, which talks about various seasons for doing God’s work. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” I believe God continues to open doors for us to share His Love — Remember, “Love God and Love Others.”

We will hold Richmond Men’s Walk #129 on Oct. 11-14, at the Virginia Nazarene Camp, 1151 High School Road, Buckingham, Virginia. As I write this, Southside Emmaus is having a Women’s weekend at the Virginia Nazarene Camp.  Please be in prayer for them … and please pray about whom God is calling you to share this experience with. I encourage you to read Luke 24.

I look forward to seeing you at Gathering on May 12th, when we will be anointing the WLD for Richmond #129 that evening.

Take Care and God Bless,

[Gatherings are at Bethia UMC, on Winterpock Rd in Chesterfield, beginning with a covered-dish fellowship meal at 6 PM followed by music and Worship.  Childcare provided by Bethia’s Safe Sanctuaries-approved staff.]
